FABULOUS VINTAGE TORI RICHARD Honolulu dress, gown or robe, "Mindel Couture", "Made in the British Colony of Hong Kong".  Circa 1950.  Exciting peacock tail embroidery design on the front and back.  Shades of brown threads long stitch embroider the circles of the peacock tail eyes, and each section is outlined in shiny metallic goldtone threads.  Metallic goldtone thread scrollwork completes the design on the front and back.

The dress has a hidden 22" nylon front zipper, so you can open the neckline as much as you want.  The gown is completely lined.  The inside armholes are reinforced with 3 layers of stitching and finished with a hem stitch. The material is 100% polyester as stated on the label but is textured with nubs to look like silk.  The fabric has a slight silk-like sheen to it as well.  Two covered buttons with fabric loop closures at each cuff.  Each cuff has 3 1/2" of fabric on the inside - so you can turn up the cuff for an attractive cuffed alternative to the sleeve.  The fabric has quite a heavy feel to it, substantial.  In very good condition.  There is very light minor soiling on the inside of the bottom hem, which does not show in photos.  Accessories not included.
